Teaching in the School

Today's children are future national builder. We have been conducting volunteer treks in the Ruby valley trek, among them teaching program has been able to earn the huge reputation. In this community service, teaching program is designed for those interested travelers who want to share their knowledge and experience for physical and mental development of student. It helps the students expand their understanding and importance of education and ultimately make them aware of their future through the self motives. There are numerous schools located in this region. Villagers people are friendly and ready all time to help you if you need. At least one month is better to teach in the villagers' school; however, it can be minimized and maximized in accordance clients requirements.

Health service

International health physician specialists associated in any departments doctors, nurses and other health workers, as well as other volunteers, can participate under this health service campaign to be held health clinic camp, general health check as well as health seminar to make them aware them about standard of living. Community will be benefited from the dental, and eye disease campaign. Your duties of helping the local community can be performed in a health post, health centre as nurse and doctors. At least extra 2 day is essential to arrange in each V.D.C to facilitate the service to be benefited large numbers of community under this campaign.

Engineering program

Most of Houses in the villages have been damaged badly, only a few of them are partially cracked inside which is not safe to live in, after the earthquake. People are in the villages living in temporary shelter to past monsoon season. Their plan is to move on rebuilding their houses after over the monsoon season. There is problem seen, they are in dilemma whether they rebuild their houses in the same place or move on another safe place. There is no any expert available to provide instructions regarding structure of houses, check whether land is safe to habitant or not. Any people who are in civil engineering, structure engineering etc is heartily welcomed to join.

Women Empowerment and Child Development (personality)

"The good of individual lies in the good of the society as whole." This program is introduced to develop the personality, initiate women group unity and child as a team worker to coordinate and support their efforts in need to each other through the sense of unity. As a social human being, it aims at solving the problem with the help of mutual sharing, trust and coordination. Ultimate achievement is maintenance of equality for all the people in doing and saying, at the end, to build the supportive and prosperity community.

Environmental awareness program

We undertake some exhibition and pubic seminar in order to raise awareness regarding the protection and conservation of the natural resources, and its importance for living being. In this campaign, our efforts towards plantation, alternative use of energy maybe from solar cooking and lighting to minimize and eliminate the deforestation. We operate sanitation program of which we all together involve in building the toilets, playground and trails.

We provide

You will stay in home stay. Therefore, we make arrangement and fixed of home stay to live in. separate private room will be provided, however, no possibility to arrange a separate bath and toilet in the villages. The common meals such as locally produced organic rice, vegetable and daal (lentil) whatever a family member eats, will be served you. People in the villages will be very friendly, helpful and supportive, they will treat guest as a god, will be always greeted by them with smiling and Namaskar (it is Nepali greeting when people meet, they respect other with Namaste) despite of unfamiliar or not speaking your language.

Essential things you need to bring?

Definitely, weather and climate is changeable throughout the year. To cope with dynamic environment phenomenon, some essential equipment needs to be considered mandatorily to make a successful and enjoyable trip. We are going to serve in the remote and rural village where we have to make arrangement of required equipments prior to leave for. However, volunteer trek will be operated in low altitude; there is no possibility, or risk and fear of happening altitude sickness. Likewise, despite of sunny whole day, night will be a bit cold as compared to day. We recommend volunteers bring sleeping bags, flashlight, seasonal clothes, trekking shoes, toiletries accessories, simple medicine.

This trek lies in central part of Nepal, the nearest to Capital city of Kathmandu. Culturally rich, biological and geographical mesmerizing region has adequate flourishing wildflowers, waterfalls, hilly lush scenery. Panoramic view of Ganesh himal range is stunning. Natural healing water at the bottom of Ganesh himal, on the way to Nevera village is the prime attraction.

Please be considered: Itinerary mentioned herein is just the representation of overall volunteer trek programs that does not imply the specific program of the volunteer. Hence, it includes the details of the routes we follow to reach there; however, limitation of this itinerary is unable to describe whole activities of volunteer trek programs in brief. Requirements of days under the volunteer program may vary from one to another. Generally, volunteer program relating to teaching, health, engineering, environment and women empowerment etc requires longer days staying in targeted villages depending upon your practical demonstration of your programs to complete. So, extra day is essential.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m/4264 ft)

Our representative member along with private transportation will come to pick you at your arrival zone at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, for your free hassle transfer to Hotel. You are then free to settle in and explore your vibrant surroundings. Our friendly staffs are on hand to provide any advice or assistance. Overnight in Kathmandu. Included meals:D

Day 02 - Drive to Syabrubensi (1,420 m / 4,655 ft) -7-9hrs

We start our scenic drive after an early morning breakfast, traveling by local bus out of the valley and along the picturesque highway that heads north The beautiful scenery along the way includes rivers, terraced fields, villages and sights of the snowy mountains on clear days. The initial section of the drive is relatively pleasant to Trishuli Bazaar. The roadthen becomes a bit more rugged as it ascends to Dhunche and dropping back down to Syabrubensi, a bazaar town with much to explore including a riverside hot springs. Overnight at Lodge. Day 03 - Trek to Gatlang (2240 m / 7355 ft) - 6 hrs

From Syabrubensi, we inaugurate our first day on the trail. We climb to the west and pass through rural villages and terraced fields. We are off the beaten path now and the pace and scenery is peaceful and spectacular. Gatlang is an idyllic settlement inhabited mainly by people of the Tamang ethnicity. The homes are closely connected. Above the village we can take a side-tour to visit a cheese production center and nearby pond that is considered sacred by locals and a festival site for Hindu pilgrims and the location offers a marvelous panorama. Day 04 -Trek to Somdang (3,270 m/10,765 ft) - 6-7hrs

From majestic Gatlang, we ascend above the village to a pilgrimage area with a pond and Hindu shrine. This sacred area is known as ParvatiKund and is especially busy during festivals. Our serene trail then passes through rhododendron (Nepal's national flower) and pine forest with occasional open pastures. We ascend to Khurpu Bhanjyangpass and the views are truly spectacular. We then descend into the valley to the west, through more serene and remote forested area. Eventually we cross the Somdang River which is the border between the Dhading and Rasuwa districts. Up the valley is a former mining compound that is no longer in operation. The collection of riverside lodges a few minutes down from the bridge is our destination. Overnight at Lodge. Day 05 -Trek to Tipling (1875 m / 6,190 ft) by way of Pangsang Kharka(3845 m/ 12645 ft) - 3-4 hrs

From the small settlement of Somdang, we make have a climb through more scenic terrain with dense jungle on the way up to a large pasture that is known as Pangsang Kharka. This pass has a wide open meadow and affords great views of the surrounding territory including the Annapurnas, Manaslu and mighty Ganesh Himal and more. We then make our way down through more thick jungle as we descend with a broad perspective of the lush valley that we are entering. Eventually we reach Tipliing, a large settlement of mostly Tamang people with Buddhist monasteries and Christian churches as well. Overnight at home stay. Included Meals: B, L, D.

Day 06 -Trek to Chalis Gaon (1800m/ 5,960 ft) - 2hrs

Today is a short and leisurely day as we make our way to the sister villages of Sertung and Chalis Gaon. First, we descend through serene jungle and cross a tributary and then make a contour to the splendid village of Chalish Gaon in an idyllic setting. About 100 m above Chailsh Gaon is Shertung village and both magnificent settlements leave a lot to explore, or just relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery of surrounding fields and lush valley below. Sertung and Chalish Gaon are inhabited mainly by Gurung,Tamang and Dalit people. Overnight at home stay. Included Meals: B, L, D.

Day 07 -Rest and Relaxation Day at Chalish Gaon

Today, we take a day away from trekking to truly relax and enjoy the surroundings. We have optional hikes to a nearby natural hot springs across the valley with built up, riverside pools where we can soak our cares away. Another option is a hike up to a spectacular viewpoint above the villages. Or, just sit back and take in the village life, perhaps interacting with the local people and observing their typical daily schedule. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08 -12: Start Program at Chalish Village

We do our program continue in the rest of days, teachers to teach in Shree Kanya Devi primary School, engineers to build up houses and school, doctors to conduct general health campaign, other volunteer could participate in environment, women empowerment program. These programs remain for 5 days. Brief oral orientation about program will be given arrival at Kathmandu.

Day 13 -Trek to Jharlang (3,000m/ 9,900ft) -5-6 hrs

We say goodbye to our home of Chalish Gaon of the last two days and make our way through rich jungle scenery. We pass through the scenic village of Borang, and then we continue through more dense jungle terrain. The route takes us through remote villages with beautiful surrounding fields and then we climb to Jharlang, a large settlement with spectacular views. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 14 -Trek to Darkha Gaon (830 m/ 2,710 ft) - 6-7 hrs

We have reached our final day on the trekking trails. Today we make a pleasant hike down through beautiful territory of jungles and fertile fields and pleasant villages.It is a pleasant descent through a scenic valley to our destination near the road where we will arrange transport to Kathmandu tomorrow. Note: Transportation access from Darkha Gaun to Dhading Besi runs almost all seasons except Monsoon due to muddy roads in rainy season. Similarly, the above mentioned itinerary is not applicable at all. In monsoon season, walking from Darkha Gaun, Therefore, it is essential to spend extra 1 night on the way to reach Dhading Besi.

Day 15 - Drive to Kathmandu - 6-7 hrs

We say goodbye to the peaceful trails and make a return drive through picturesque countryside to Kathmandu, a scenic drive offering a good look at the natural scenery and rural farmland of Nepal. The bus makes one last climb and we are back in the valley of the gods, Kathmandu. Accommodation at selected Hotel in Kathmandu. Included Meals: B,

DAY 16 - Transfer to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your international departure

The journey within the mountains of Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do. If we have more time we can do some shopping or sightseeing. At last approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight, a representative member will come to escorts to the airport. On our way to home we will have plenty of time to plan our next adventure trip in the wonderful country of Nepal. Included meals: B

Please be advised: we organize any size of volunteer trek in Ruby valley area as there is no limit of maximum, at least having the composition of two members will be the easier to join in volunteer program. Our priority and target to provide the service of volunteer trek in Ruby valley contains mainly four V.D.C. (Village Development Committee) consist of Sertung, Tipling, Lapa and Jharlang. The maximum number of participants under above mentioned program will be allocated separately in the different village; there will be the provision of at least two volunteer members in each village. Even though, a volunteer group comprises of small numbers. We will give more emphasize on Sertung V.D.C keeping first priority to Chalish Village.
