Khopra Danda Trek
Seen many good reviews about Discovery World Trekking, So I decided to email. I got a response from Paul very quick. Before I decided to make the booking I had many questions, but Paul was patient and responded my emails quickly. The booking went very smooth. The first day I got picked up and met Paul in person which I find great. Gives a personal touch. During my 7 day trek everything was arranged. My teahouses were nice, the meals were good and overall the trek that I had booked was perfect. The Itinerary that was sent to me was the same as the trek. From the moment that I got picked up for the bus to Pokhara till the moment they brought me back, all was organized. At the end of your trek you meet Paul again in person and you can tel him your story. Also if anything did not go according to plan, he will listen to your advice. Which I found professional. All in All I would recommend Discovery World Trekking.
Amazing trek to Khopra Danda!
So happy we chose Discovery World Trekking for our family trek to Khopra Danda. Paul made organising the trip so easy and was very flexible in tailoring the trek to suit us. We couldn’t have been happier with our amazing team - our guide Milan was very knowledgeable, entertaining and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Our wonderful porters Purna & Ram were lots of fun and loved a game of cards after a big day of trekking! We stayed in some great tea houses along the way and woke up to incredible mountain views every morning. All up an amazing trip and I would definitely recommend DWT (and our A-team!) to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
Discovery are amazing! My family and I recently completed a 7 day trek to Khopra and had the most incredible time! Paul made sure we felt prepared before we left and provided us with all of the information we needed right from the start. Our guide Milan made the entire trip an absolute breeze! He was very attentive, organised all of our accomodation ahead of time, and did everything he could to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We also had the wonderful Purna and Ram join us as porters on our trek, both of whom added to the fabulous atmosphere. We spent many hours around the table with the Discovery team playing cards, learning Nepalese words and having a laugh! We were greeted every morning with big smiles, even on the day when we all woke up at 4am to catch the sunrise on the top of poon hill! I would absolutely recommend these guys for anyone wanting to go trekking in Nepal!
8 Day Khopra Danda Trek
We contacted Paul at Discovery World because we wanted something specific to suit our needs and budget rather than just a standard package (which some of the other agencies just refused to be flexible on). He delivered exactly what we wanted, working with us over email to refine an itinerary to suit our travel dates and the pre/post trip accommodation and transfers we wanted to book ourselves. We were greeted by him at the airport and had a great briefing meeting in KTM where we also met our guide Karan who went to the trouble of getting us a map of our route. Both Karan and our porter, Manish, were absolute stars throughout the whole trek - always positive and happy to be flexible according to what we wanted to do; they also gave us real confidence on some occasionally challenging paths and conditions too. For readers' benefits: our route was 8 days starting at Syauli Bazar and going up to Bayelli then across to Khopra and down to Paudar, Swanta and Ghorepani to get to Poon Hill and then back to Pokhara. The whole thing was frankly amazing, beautiful and just the right level of difficulty for us (our toughest collective experience being Ben Nevis in the UK) and it was great to be off the busiest trails for much of our trek. I would recommend the route to anyone who wants to do a bit more than the standard Poon Hill route and get a bit more isolation as the reward is massive. Our view of the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri range from Khopra rivalled that from Poon Hill but was shared with just the handful of other people who had stayed in the lodge (vs the hundreds up at Poon Hill for sunrise). The only improvement I could recommend to our route was on the way down from Khopra to perhaps miss out Paudar (not much to see, not the best accommodation) and go straight to Swanta (beautiful, some of our favourite accommodation) and do the whole thing in 7 days. The communication, staff, experience and cost were all spot on for us and I thoroughly recommend Discovery World to anyone interested in trekking in Nepal.
We have just returned from the Kopra Danda trek which was organised by Discovery World Trekking. Paul has been an absolute blessing from start to finish. The trip was very well organised and I would especially like to thank our guide Simbir and our porter Suresh. The weather was very challenging ,as it was monsoon season, and we are not very experienced trekkers, however Simbir and Suresh did everyting in their ability to still make our trek memorable and as easy as possible for us. Overall it was a fantastic experience and thank you Paul for running such an excellent company. I would recommend you to anyone. Dhanybhad!
My trip was started with Kathmandu valley sightseeing as per the itinerary. DWT tour guide lead me with describing valuable information about historical places during my full day tour. In fact, this made me first impressive with great service and professional team. Then, I departure for Khopra danda trekking with guide, actually guide was so funny and huge knowledge. He always encourages me to enjoy and does not make me to feel bored. Hiking experience with DWT guide was really an exciting moment I did not know how fast my time go away despite of little bit tired in ascend way. I got a great experience in Himalaya that has nothing to compare because service, arrangement of trip, and guide that was extraordinary for me. Treating and creating me a family environment. Overall, I have no words to express my happiness in DWT teamwork
