Summer temperature ranges from 25 to 35 degrees, and winter at -2 to 15 degrees. Chitwan is a little hotter, where summer temperature ranges from 24 to 35. Most visitors prefer to visit Chitwan National Park from October to March. However, the chances of seeing tigers and rhinos are greater in hot seasons, from February to June.

Group/single

We offer group and private treks, with discounts available for larger teams. The extent of the discount is dependent on the size of your team. It's important to note that if Discovery World Trekking puts the group together, you will not get any discounts.

We can accommodate groups of any size. Each group will be led by a designated group leader. Additionally, there will be a porter for every two trekkers, and an assistant guide will be present for groups with more than 11 trekkers.

Typical day

This trek takes you to three regions: Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. In Kathmandu, you will visit important historical monuments and UNESCO-designated cultural sites, such as Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan Durbar squares. These sites were constructed during the Malla rule. You will also interact with the locals, mostly the Newars.

Electricity and water

Electricity and water are available throughout the trek. You need not worry about it. You can charge your electronics in the hotels you will be staying. Similarly, bottled water is available throughout the trek regions. However, for ecological reasons, we advise you to bring your water bottle and fill it with boiled water or filtered water. However, we do not recommend you drink water from taps, wells, and rivers in trek regions for hygiene reasons. Similarly, it is best to use water purification pills before drinking water.

Communication

Communication in the trek regions is well-developed. You can contact your friends, families, or colleagues using the internet available in your hotels. Moreover, you can also buy Nepali sim cards for mobile connections. Discovery World Trekking office remains in contact with all the trek groups through the trek lead at least once daily to ensure smooth treks.

Passport and visa

If you're a foreigner and not an Indian national, you'll need a valid visa to enter Nepal. You can acquire an on-arrival visa at Tribhuvan International Airport or the immigration checkpoints along the Indian and Tibet borders.

To apply for a visa, you'll need a passport valid for at least six months, a passport-size photograph, and visa fees. Presently, the visa cost for a 30-day stay is US$50, which you can pay in cash. Children below the age of 10 receive free visas.

Citizens of China and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka get a free visa.

However, citizens from some countries may not be able to obtain an on-arrival visa, including Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan. Therefore, if you belong to these countries, please visit your nearest Nepalese Embassy.

The Nepal government may change visa regulations without notice. Hence, for the latest rules, please visit www.immigration.gov.np.

Money exchanges

Nepali Rupees (NPR) is the official currency of Nepal, with the current exchange rate being approximately 130 NPR per 1 USD.

You can exchange most major foreign currencies through banks and money exchanges.

However, to avoid high bank fees and lengthy processes, we recommend exchanging your currency through legal money exchanges all over Kathmandu. You may also withdraw Nepali Rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu, where you can withdraw up to NRs 35,000 for a Rs 500 fee.

Please note only INR notes of 100 and 2,000 are legal in Nepal. Also, Nepali banks will not accept old, damaged, or faded foreign currency notes, so you must bring new and crisp bills. As currency exchange services may not be available in other towns or cities, you must exchange your foreign currency in Kathmandu.

We estimate you will require 10 USD to 20 USD per day as spending money.

Luggage

We advise you to bring only the essentials to the trek. You can leave your extra luggage at your hotel or at the Discovery World Trekking office for the duration of this trek. We will arrange for porters to carry your luggage, but your luggage weight limit is 9 kg. One porter will carry luggage for two trekkers, and they will carry no more than 18 kg of weight. We do not overload our porters. Please note that we expect you to bring a small regular backpack for your valuables and important documents.

Extra personal expenses

This package does not cover all the expenses. You will be responsible for your stays in Kathmandu along with meals before the trek start and after the end. We will provide you with breakfasts in Kathmandu and Pokhara. So, you will have to pay for your dinners and lunches. Besides these costs, you will need money to meet other expenses, such as visa fees, snacks, bottled water, hot (tea/coffee), cold and alcoholic drinks, souvenirs, etc. We advise you to exchange your currency in Kathmandu, estimating your costs based on your spending habits.

Trip booking at the last minute can be a challenge, but at Discovery World Trekking, we have a special provision for such circumstances. While we strongly recommend booking in advance, if you're unable, you can still join us on a trek. However, in the case of a last-minute booking, you'll need to clear the entire trip payment 24 hours before the trek's departure date.

If you are happy with our service, we encourage you to leave positive reviews on travel portals.
