Although trekking is possible throughout the year each season has different advantages and attractions and advantages offer for trekking in Annapurna region. The temperature in the mountains also depends according to the altitude range – higher the altitude, lower the temperature.
Trekking season begins after March. Trekking in the spring between mid-March and mid-April means that you will get to see the incredible displays of Rhododendrons that flower in the forests around Ghorepani. Temperature starts rising from mid March up to mid May. Weather is cool at this time. Sky is very clear and you can enjoy the clearest views of mountains.
It usually rains during this season. Monsoon generally begins around the end June and continues up to the second week of August. The temperature during the days usually ranges from 10°C to 23? and gets relatively colder at night ( 5°C to 10?) mornings are usually clear with clouds building up during the afternoon and disappearing again at night. Because of the rainfall Rhododendron forests around Ghorepani will be rife with leeches .However, the northern sections around the Mustang Region doesn't get as affected by the monsoon as it lies within a rainshadow area Though the rain may cause some problems .Various plants bloom during this season , the valleys will be green and totally different view than during other seasons. Please note that rain clouds may boack views and mudslides are common around the entire circuit.
This is a favourite among tourists with the most favorable weather and perfect climate condition. The sun shines bright the skies are clear you get a superb view of mountains and the temperature is perfect for daytime trek. you can enjoy spectacular starry skies since the sky is clear at night. The monsoons will be over by early September and the weather ranges from mild to warm days. Daytime temperatures can reach upto 20c in high altitudes, the nights are cold, temperatures may go down around 5c.the greens that grew during monsoon fade to golden/amber proving a spectacular contrast against the crystal blue skies, grains are ripen in the enclave. Despite being cold the skies are usually very clear, mountain views are at their best.with snowy caps the it might snow and the ground will be snow the trails are the least busy at this time.it may not be the best season for beginners but experienced trekkers will have no problem.do keep in mine that late february- early march is also the period in the Annapurna Region when avalanches are most common.

Annapurna Circuit with Lake Tilicho
This was an amazing trek, right from when I booked it Paul Gurung the CEO, who fasilitated the booing of this trek. The trek was amazing with my Guide Kerean Gurung and Porter Suresh Gurung. As with all high altitude trekking there are risks, and I could go no further than Thorung High Camp (4925m). Thanks to the professionalism and knowledge of both Kerean Gurung and Suresh Gurung I reached the Manang and was sen by a Dr and then on to Kathmandu. I would like to say a huge thank you to Paul, Kerean, and Suresh for all your help and support both. Encore and after Thorung High Camp. I will defentley use you again
16 day Annapurna Circuit Trek with lake Tilicho
I signed up for the 16 day Annapurna Circuit Trek with lake Tilicho. It was an unforgettable experience where I saw the full range of rainforest to snow at Thorong La pass. Shawn Deep and Maansing were great and kept me safe in the mountains and were a bundle of fun. We had an enjoyable time on the trail and they were professional in carrying out their duties. Had heavy snow fall at Sree Kharka which made visiting the lake dangerous, so my guide made the correct decision to alter the route. I also made same last minute decision to alter the itinerary due to some personal reasons and they were very accommodating to make the necessary changes. My first trip to Nepal but definitely not the last. Discovery World Trekking made it an wonderful experience.
Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek
The entire trip was very well facilitated from the start to end by discovery world trekking. We had many changes in our route planning at the start and Paul was very helpful with helping us throughout. We were very well taken care of during the course of the entire trip, sufficient food, best accommodations possible and well planned routes. The guide and porter we were trekking with were both very enthusiastic and helpful, which made the trip extremely enjoyable! Would highly recommend anyone considering a trek in Nepal to go with Discovery World Trekking!
Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake 16 days
From the moment Paul met us with a flower necklace at the airport until he waved us off in the private bound for departure; the whole Discovery World Trekking experience paid for itself tenfold. It has compounded my love for the country and the people of Nepal and made certain that I will return and do another trek with DWT. I can not fault our guide Soraz and porter Amar as they were a delight to be around, they were professional, genuine and had a youthly passion for delivering the best trekking experience. Soraz is knowledgeable and has adequate English skills to translate and would always travel at our pace, never pushed us to go faster or further. Amar is bubbly, loves music and would sing for us every day whilst trekking. They both seem the happiest with a cup of warm tea playing cards with us which was a delight. As a whole this experience in Nepal was amazing and unforgettable, thank you so much Discovery World Trekking. See you again soon.
Trip of a lifetime
I just returned from an Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake trek organized by Discovery World Trekking. From my first communication with the owner, Paul, to my trek with Dol, the team at Discovery World went above and beyond to create a truly exceptional experience. Paul answered all of my logistical questions and helped me make local arrangements, all with a positive supportive attitude that made me much more confident in my decision to come to Nepal alone. On the trail, Dol patiently and cheerfully answered all of my questions and shared his culture with me. He was also very responsive and flexible, suggesting changes to the itinerary that I might enjoy and accommodating my requests as they came up. He even carried my sleeping bag for me on a couple of the toughest days! The trek itself was gorgeous, and we had great weather given that I was there during monsoon season (few clouds and almost no rain!). Tilicho lake and the Thorong La pass were definite highlights! This team is truly committed to making sure each client has the best experience possible, and they have a ton of experience and know what works. I've done a lot of trekking in many different countries, and the organization and personal attention I saw on this trek were second to none. Discovery World is an awesome local company, and the obvious choice if you're coming to Nepal to go trekking. I'm already looking forward to reconnecting with them in a couple of years to trek to Everest Base Camp!
“Annapurna Circuit incl Tilicho Lake”
We had a great experience on the Annapurna Circuit Trek incl Tilicho Lake and we loved the fantastic sceneries. Paul, the manager of the agency is very committed in ensuring that we will be very satisfied on our trip. He also takes care a lot about his porters and guides which is important to us (e.g. that they are carrying not too much). Our guide and porters were very capable and had a pleasing manner. We arranged the trip via internet and asked if some flexibility is possible to make the trip more custom. Paul explained to us what is possible and what not (e.g. because of potential risks or depending on weather conditions). I personally appreciated this honesty a lot since it built trust. During the trip we asked for some rearrangements by adding two extra days he made this possible by rearranging flights from Jomsom to Pokhara which I guess required some effort since this flight seems often heavily booked. Thanks again for this very nice trip!
The Experience was Amazing! Annapurna Circuit Trekking
I did the Annapurna circuit with DWT, travelling by myself with a guide (Bupal Gurung). The experience was amazing, especially crossing the Throng La pass at an altitude of over 5400m, and Bupal did a great job. Transport, accommodation and meals were all organized for me so I could focus on trekking instead of worrying about the details. The Annapurna circuit is must beautiful place,it is cold weather and high altitudes but I always felt safe. Having a guide was invaluable for communicating with local people, learning more about the culture, finding the shortcuts and dealing with the altitude. He watched me closely for signs of altitude sickness and was always looking out for my well being. Paul Gurung, the CEO of Discovery World Trekking is highly experienced and is one of the few to have summited Mt Everest. He organized everything for my month in Nepal and showed me the meaning of hospitality. Heading out for another trek in the Annapurna region in a few days. I would definitely recommend DWT!
