During the expedition, we are accompanied by experienced, friendly and qualified expert Sherpa’s sharing information and historical facts about the places as we trek. We will also be accompanied by the porters who carry our luggage’s. However, we will be carrying our small regular day bag pack of necessary items.
The day starts with an early morning hot cup of tea/coffee. After packing our bags and gorging on a wholesome breakfast, we set off on the day’s walk around 7 AM to 8 AM, depending on the duration and nature of the day’s walk. After trekking for three to four hours, lunch will be served around midday on the route to the next destination and we continue after about an hour of rest.
The afternoon walk is generally shorter; about two to three hours. Once we reach our overnight lodge/tea house/tent, we snack on the extra dietary food. We will have free time to explore nearby places.
Dinner is served around 6 PM to 7 PM. After dinner and before going to bed, we indulge in friendly conversations and discuss the experience of that day. The expedition leader/guide will brief us about the next day’s plan. After this briefing, we enjoy on board games like monopoly, cards and watch available mountaineering documentaries. Most of the foreigners indulge in light and fun learning of Nepalese language from our crew or read books before heading off to bed for a well-deserved sleep.

Communication on trek

On the Everest Base Camp Trek, the use of internet service will be available at the lodges with the service charge. You can contact your family and friends via the lodges, but once we reach high altitudes the connection may not work. Also, depending on the kind of network you use, there will be the signal but not very strong. On your request, we can provide you with a separate local sim card for good access to contacting your family and friends through your cell phone.

Extra personal expenses on trekking

Discovery World Trekking tries to provide all extra expenses excluded from the package. Meals and accommodations in Kathmandu will have to be arranged by self. Trekkers will have to bring personal spending money with them to cover costs of accommodations in Kathmandu, visa process, travel insurance policy purchase, beverages, snacks for the trek, tips to the trekking crew members, souvenirs etc. We recommend bringing cash (dollars) which can be changed to rupees here.

Electricity and battery recharge, water on trekking

Throughout the lodges at Everest base camp trekking, electricity for the camera and mobile battery recharge is available by paying in price at all lodges. Most of the lodges have hydroelectricity and some of them have used the solar panels. Water during the trek, you can buy either packed mineral water from local lodges and en route shop or filling boiled water at an extra cost. A water purification pill is suggested as drinking water.

Travel insurance

This trip grade is ranked the challenging difficult as it entails the risk of high altitude trekking, potential altitude sickness and other unforeseen events including sudden climate changes.
Travel insurance is a significant part of our booking condition for The Everest base camp trek. All the members of trekking the must provide a copy of their comprehensive travel insurance policy certificate to Discovery World Trekking. The policy must cover medical and emergency repatriation inclusive of helicopter rescue and evacuation expenses at high altitude for trekking members.
We can recommend insurance companies to help you but we don’t directly get involved in the sale of insurance policy. Members can be refused to be included in the trekking based on insufficient, improper or absence of travel insurance policy.
Trekking members are kindly requested to send their detailed insurance information once they book for the trekking. In case of emergency situations, we will be using the insurance policy and informational documents you sent us. This will help us arrange a quick and effective rescue operation, transfer for emergency medical help etc. Please ensure that the insurance company includes the cost incurred for mountain rescue service at the highest elevation of the trekking.

Passport and visa

All foreigners except Indians, require a visa to enter Nepal. Visa is available on arrival in the Tribhuvan international airport. Visa can be extended at the central immigration office www.immigratiion.gov.np The visa application will require at least a passport of 6 months’ validity, and a passport size photo. The current cost of visa fee is the US $40 for 30 days which have to be paid in cash. Citizens of China and the SAARC countries will receive a free visa. There are certain countries (Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan)that may not receive the visa on arrival and so you will have to contact your local Nepalese embassy.

Money exchange

Nepali Rupees (NPR/Rs) is the local currency.
(1 USD = ~ Rs.100 NPR).
We can exchange most of the foreign currencies through local banks and legitimate money exchanges in Kathmandu and all over Thamel. Small amounts of cash can also be exchanged at the hotel.
The ongoing rate of exchange is visibly displayed. The government of Nepal has banned the import, export and use of 500 and 1000 Indian Rupee note in Nepal. You should ensure that you are not carrying these notes on arrival in Nepal as they will be confiscated and you may also be fined.
Despite having security advantage of traveler's cheque, we prefer cash exchange to avoid hassles like a lengthy process and high rate of commission at the banks. You can withdraw cash (in Rupees only) from one of the many ATMs in Kathmandu and Thamel itself. There are quite several ATMs that are open around the clock. The maximum withdrawal amount is 35,000 Rupees for a 500 Rupees processing fee if you are using your foreign card.
If you use the money exchange facility at banks and financial institutions the service fee charge imposed is about four percent or more depending upon the bank.  Please note that most of the established banks in Asia will not accept foreign currency notes that are old, torn or faded. Please ensure that you have new, clean notes

Most groups will give the trips in farewell dinner on the last evening or last day of the trek, to mark the end of the trip. The amount of the trip is entirely a personal preference that may be more or less depending upon your perception of service quality, length of trip, budget and appreciation of their work. EBC 13 days trek

EBC 13 days trek

There are so many trekking companies in Nepal and through TripAdvisor I narrowed it down to Discovery World Trekking. Picked up the phone and spoke to Paul. They provided information and is easily contacted. I am finally doing my solo 13 day EBC trek with a guide and porter. Got picked up on the 11-Oct-2018 from the airport and taken to my hotel in Thamel area. Met with Paul at his office the next day for final payment and instructions about the trek. Started my trek on the 13-Oct-2018, got picked up from my hotel and driven to the domestic airport for the morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. There I met my guide Prem and porter Pradeep. Helpful, knowledgeable and fun. Cater for all the accomodation, food and your needs while on the trek and at the many tea houses. Also there is regular contact with base - Paul with updates. Yes we made it to ECB, really over the moon about it. As he said earlier when we first met, “he treats all his clients as family” and this really shone through. For this I am very thankful and will not hesitate recommending Discovery World Trekking.

Extra mile service

Extra mile service

Service was excellent. They really go an extra mile to give their clients a stress-free experience. From beginning to end Paul, the humble owner was always there to show support and care.  1. My friend and I came from 2 separate countries. Discovery made 2 trips just to pick us up and we need not remind them to do it.  They knew and they were prepared.  2. Paul was like a brother who would remind you of the things you have to do and bring. Since we were no experienced hikers, he lent us sleeping bags and a duffle bag.  3. He provided a very helpful guide. Subra. He was a bodyguard, a guide and a photographer all rolled into one.  4. He booked us at good hotels and lodging houses with astounding mountain View.  5. am from a tropical country. I live by the sea, I had prepared for EBC physically. I did some trekking, swimming and jogging. But my big mistake was I failed to acclimate on high altitude never did I think that I would experience altitude sickness but when I reached dingboche. Altitude sickness struck. My partner immediately asked for rescue and Paul was quick to respond. In less than 15mins I was airlifted from dingboche. And soon as we arrived the airport an ambulance was already waiting for us and I was taken directly to the hospital. Paul was there waiting. He already made arrangements at the hospital and reserved a room for me.  When I was fully recovered, again Paul, the owner was there to check if we were ok.  This service deserves more than 5 stars. No other company would extend this kind of service. It's more than just providing good trekking and traveling service. It's definitely doing doing business with much care, consideration and support to the clients.  I will do EBC again when I am more prepared. I will seek for discovery world trekking service again. Coz I know it's trustworthy, the service is excellent and I will be safe with them.

Very helpful. Good trekking guide

Very helpful. Good trekking guide

I wanted an extraordinary proposal for my partner so i thought EBC would be a good choice since we will be given 12 days astounding views and rewarding experiences. I searched for a good agency and luckily i came across discovery world trekking. Ive read good reviews about it so i sent them an email. Paul, the owner was quick to respond.  October was our scheduled trip. But that was also the time i had problems with my back -i was diagnosed with lumbar strain 3 days before the Nepal trip. I didn’t want to spoil the whole trip with a back pain so when i met up with paul, he advised me to take a rest and do a mini trek to acclimatize and see if i would have problems with my back. It was a good advice instead of pushing me to just cancel right away.  I felt the need to be honest with him regarding my purpose and he was cooperative. He said he will try his best to make our dreams come true. True to his word, he was very supportive.  Paul even provided us stuff we failed to bring like comfy sleeping bags and duffle bags. He gave us a very helpful guide who spoke good english. Subraj.  While we were more than half our trek,my partner experienced acute mountain sickness.  In the middle of the night subras carried her on his back on the way up the hill where the mountain was located. Paul checked on us every once in a while.  The following morning my parter was back on her toes again and we proceeded with our journey. It was a smooth trip . Discovery world trekking reserved good rooms for us. When we reached dingboche, my partner again experienced mountain sickness the guide and told me that it was no good to carry on. We called paul and he coordinated the rescue.  Thats the good thing about discovery. They keep track or their clients and see to it that their needs are met. In those crucial times in the middle s of the everest region, we were lucky to have easily contacted paul. He sent a rescue helicopter right away.  I was still able to pursue the proposal. Although it wasnt on my target location, EBC but instead on the heli rescue back to kathmandu. I felt so relieved that i could rely on discovery world trekking not just in making EBC dreams come true but making sure lives are safe and saved.  He had problems with the insurance that he recommended, but he talked to the hospital management and we were given discount for our hospitalization . We were surprised that the helicopter rescue was ridiculously expensive but again he did not allow us to shoulder the burden, alone. He would always find a way to help and make his customers feel happy.  I don’t think other owners will do the same. He would always visit us till my partner got well.  With discovery world trekking you build also a good relationship and we were able to leave nepal knowing we have a good person to come back for in our next adventures.  Just a tip. Don’t underestimate trekking in high altitudes. Prepare and get a good insurance that will cater to your needs.

I visited Nepal as a new international traveller and was very pleased with the professionalism, knowledge, as well as the kindness and heart of this group. They were always eager to help with any concern and to ensure that we had great experiences. They were very attentive to acclimatizing us properly to altitudes and we all made it to Everest Base Camp. I additionally felt strong enough to summit Kala Pathar with the company of our excellent guide and porter. I'm very grateful for an amazing experience and memories made in Nepal and credit much to this group. I'd recommend them many times over to anyone looking for something similar in Nepal! They additionally help us capture photographs and gave us a very nice and unexpected medal to honor our accomplishments.

Everest Base Camp Trek

After talking to multiple companies offering the EBC trek I found Paul and decided to go with Discovery World Trekking, here is why. 1. DWT is a local company to Nepal/Kathmandu. 2. The pricing is unbeatable. 3. Small (< 3> 4. Food was included in price! Here is my experience. After booking a few months in advance I landed in Kathmandu and to my surprise Paul (the owner) comes to the airport with your guide to personally pick you up. That was unexpected, and an incredibly nice touch.  Paul, my guide Milan, and myself met in Paul's office that night to discuss the trek and what to expect and what is needed. The next day Milan (my guide) met me at my hotel and took me around Thamel to do last minute shopping, helping me pick up a few essentials and get good deals. Again this was something that no other company offered and really was above and beyond what I was expecting.  They day of the trek Milan picked me up from my hotel and we went to the airport together. Along the trek Milan was incredibly knowledgeable and just an all around great guide to have. What really impressed me about Milan was that he ALWAYS put my needs first. When it was time to eat (breakfast, lunch or dinner) he did not eat until I was fed, he would stay with me and talk even though his food was ready. When I realized he was doing this I had to tell him to go eat! He was incredibly attentive and I HIGHLY recommend him if you use Discovery World Trekking.  Unfortunately for me, I ended up getting sick during the hike and Milan and Paul took care of everything. Paul personally took the time out of his day to meet me at the hospital and take care of all accommodations. He stayed with me until I was checked in and visited me the following day to see how I was doing. When i was discharged, he personally picked me up and took me to my hotel. Again, this was way above and beyond what I was expecting and was greatly appreciated. Paul makes you feel like you are family.  I cannot recommend Discovery World Trekking enough. The service they provide is probably the best service I have ever gotten from a company in my entire life. The personal touches Paul puts on his business are second to none, and the guide he chose for me, Milan, was the perfect guide!  If you are going to trek in Nepal, use Discovery World Trekking and ask for Milan!... you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!

Outstanding EBC trek!

Outstanding EBC trek!

With so many travel companies to choose from, there was not a single regret booking with DWT! After emailing several companies about an April EBC trek, Paul replied to all emails almost instantly. He was very helpful and quickly answered any questions we had.  Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our guide Dol met us at the airport to take us to our hotel. The next day we met with Paul to go over our trip. It is clear that Paul truly cares about the clients and their experiences.  Dol was an amazing guide - he was knowledgeable, yet easy going with a good sense of humour. The small group sizes of DWT trips makes the trek feel more personable and is more flexible should a problem arise. There were only three of us in the group. We had two porters, Suraj and Lakhman, who always had our bags in our rooms hours before we arrived.  EBC was a challenging trek, but DWT helped make it possible with the care and compassion they have towards their clients!  Thank you Discovery Workd Trekking!

An Amazing Journey

An Amazing Journey

Thank you to Discovery World Trekking for such an amazing trip to Everest base camp. My wife and I started looking into a trip to Nepal to do the EBC trek and from all the companies we emailed we are so happy we went with DWT. Each question or concern was answered almost immediately by Paul prior to coming to Nepal and it just got easier after that. Our guide, Dol, was with us to help whenever we needed, first picking us up at the airport to all the good times along the way. Dol was very good about answering all our questions about the mountains, people and lifestyles along the way and kept a safe easy pace for everyone in the group. Our porters, Lakhman and Suraj were very quick with our bags, making sure they were in our room before we arrived each day. Once we arrived at base camp Dol presented us with an achievement medal and Paul had a certificate made up for us. These little things made us feel like DWT really cares about their clients. We would definitely book with DWT when we come back to Nepal.  Thank you so much for this trip of a lifetime.

As someone who usually travels solo, joining a group is always something of a risky prospect, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a company like Discovery World Trekking which did their utmost to accommodate my needs and requirements. Right from the outset the owner, Paul Gurung, was responsive to my emails, and departure was guaranteed for the I4-day EBC Trek on the date I chose--7 April. The pre-trip service was professional and courteous and from the moment I landed at Kathmandu Airport and was met by our young and personable guide, Dol Gurung, I knew all was going to be well. My group consisted of only a young Canadian couple in addition to myself, and each day was memorable and trouble-free, representing excellent value for money. The itinerary was well paced, the guest houses as comfortable as their locations allowed, and everything was very well managed. A special word of thanks must also go to my porter, Suraj Lopchan, who stood in as my guide on two occasions on the trek when I went at a different pace to my trail-mates. i will certainly travel again with Discovery World Trekking...and surely that is the sincerest recommendation of all?

I just got back from a trek to Everest Base Camp with Discovery and highly recommend booking a trek with them!  Aside from enchanting scenery, the trek to EBC gave us the chance to experience Sherpa culture, visiting monasteries, museums and witnessing mountain life for ourselves. I loved walking just for the pleasure of it, through villages, rhododendron forests, past colourful prayer wheels, across suspension bridges, behind yak trains and, my favourite, through valleys where the mountains circled us like the spine of a massive sleeping dragon.  At night, I loved sitting around the fire and listening to the guides and teahouse owners in animated conversations I didn’t understand but which were always lively and filled with laughter.  Our guide, Dol was wonderful. He was quiet and unassuming but also filled with knowledge about the region. I loved seeing his photos from other treks as well as learning about his life in Nepal and the village he where he grew up. It was also lovely having someone to take care of us. He chose excellent accommodation, made sure we were always looked after with tea and refreshments and set a good walking pace for the trek. We would not have had the same experiences if we’d set off alone and we definitely wouldn’t have learnt as much as we did about the Solukhumbu region, the Sherpa culture or the mountains themselves. Our porter was incredible too, always arriving before us so our bags were ready in our room and basically just a true champion like all the other amazing porters we witnessed on our journey. The trek to EBC is pretty unforgettable. Not only are you surrounded by breathtaking scenery every second of the day but you get to experience for yourself the amazingly warm hospitality of the Nepalese people, witness their unique way of life and carry with you the sense of personal achievement that comes with visiting the highest point on earth. If you do decide to take on the challenge Discovery is definitely the company to do it with.

It is my pleasure to write a review for Discovery World Trekking (DWT). My husband, son and myself recently did the Everest Base Camp Trek with Discovery World Trekking. I have to say that it was one of the best experiences of our lives! We loved all of it – from the sights and sounds of Thamel to the thrilling flight to Lukla, the spectacular views on the mountain, the good hearty food and the amazing people of Nepal. After much research I had chosen to book with Discovery World Trekking based on their great reviews, the quick replies and attention given to us by Paul – the CEO of the company – and the fair price. What appealed to me as well was the fact that it is a local company. I wanted to cut out the middleman and contribute more to the local economy. We received a warm welcome at the airport by Paul and Dol our guide. After being driven to our hotel, Paul briefed us on all the details of the trek and Dol made sure we had all that was needed for the trek (quality sleeping bags, …). They even helped us get sim cards for our phones! During our Trek we were presented with some unexpected challenges but the expert troubleshooting, support and excellent guidance we received by both Paul and our truly amazing guide Dol made what could have been a very bad experience actually wonderful! Anyone can guide an uneventful trek but its when things don’t go as planned that you need to be with a company and guide that know what they are doing and have the right resources. I am convinced that any other company would have had us descend without meeting our objective of reaching EBC but DWT went over and above to ensure that we were all safe and happy. From the moment we landed in Kathmandu to the moment we returned to the airport for our return flights we were in great hands. I can’t tell you how fortunate we feel that we chose DWT for our trip and I am already dreaming of going back to experience more of this beautiful country and will no doubt be using DWT. We consider Paul  I recommend Discovery World Trekking 100%. Diane from Montreal, Canada

I made plan to trek in Everest Base Camp trekking during my holiday period. I booked through online with Discovery World Trekking. It was my first time I have ever been in Himalaya adventure thus I was inexperienced and thinking about how to do successful trek. Discovery World Trekking made me both mentally and physically ready through the precious suggestion from mail. During the trip, entire team were very frankly and helpful. Guide has extensive knowledge who told me about the Sherpa history, museum and monastery so deeply. Service was highly standard. I completed 15 days Everest base camp trekking. DWT is professional team who made my trip, a life time experience. I cannot wait I will be back soon.

I came for the Everest Base Camp Trek, but learned so much more about Nepal and it's delightful people. Yes, every bend in the trail brought new and more brilliant vistas, but the time spent the Nepal people was a superb added benefit

Discovery World Trekking exceeded far beyond my expectations for the EBC trek. Right from the beginning Paul made us feel very comfortable with having everything for our trek lined up and ready to go. Dil and Dol, our guides were extremely knowledgeable and helpful on the trek. Anything you could ever need was already taken care of before you even knew you needed it. Dil and Dol were also so much fun to talk with and get to know. I felt as though we were all one big family by the end of the trek. Between teaching us card games as well as how to speak Nepali, they were far more than just trekking guides. I would recommend Discovery World Trekking and the EBC trek to EVERYONE!

Our trek to Everest Base Camp was truly an amazing journey one step at a time. Discovery World Trekking guides and porters took care of every detail so we could concentrate on the incredible beauty of the Himalayas and daily hikes. They seemed to know when you needed help before you did. By the first evening we felt like family telling stories, learning more about Nepal and having lots of laughs. Our guides were in contact with Paul Gurung in Kathmandu in anticipation of our return making sure every contingency was explored to get us back on time. This trek was more than a hike to Everest Base Camp. It was learning about the history, religion and culture of the Nepalese people and the stories about Everest which were so grateful to have experienced. It was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you

“Incredible Journey, Incredible Support”

“Incredible Journey, Incredible Support”

I recently spent one month in Nepal and my itinerary consisted of activities in the Kathmandu Valley, Everest Region, Chitwan, and Phokara. Having been recommended to the DWT team by a friend well in advance to booking the trip, I got in contact with CEO Paul via Facebook and simply put, the rest is history. Right from the get-go, Paul was so incredibly friendly and supportive, giving me a huge amount of information and various options for how I wanted to construct my trip as well as extra (and very helpful) suggestions. We remained in contact right up until my departure from Australia and upon arrival, 'Paul from Nepal' ensured that I got the absolute most out of my time in this beautiful country. Paul and his team worked tirelessly to make me feel at ease and Paul himself always made himself available for contact via text or call 24/7 in case I had any queries on the fly. I was delayed getting to the Everest Base Camp region due to bad weather for two days and was never caught out of a room to stay and Paul made huge efforts to get me on the soonest available plane. My guide Hari, and porter Dole were amazingly helpful and easy to get along with (very important when trekking by yourself) and always had great information on the different areas along the route. Upon successfully returning from my trek, Paul organised buses to and from Chitwan and Phokara, and often checked in to ensure that I was comfortable and that everything was going well. Paul and his DWT put you first, and I have yet to experience better service and attention to detail in any of my other organised travel experiences. I would recommend DWT to anyone wanting to experience Nepal and its plethora of amazing sights and sounds and can safely say that if it weren't Paul, my trip simply would not have been nearly as incredible as it fortunately was. Amazing!

My party attempted the Everest Base camp trek in 14 days this October. After much shopping around we ended up choosing Discovery World Trekking because of online reviews and consistent thorough contact with Paul. We couldn’t be happier with our end result. Our guide Krishna  was the best, absolutely worth requesting. He was knowledgeable, driven, met the needs of a diverse group of people, and was incredibly warm and kind and open throughout our trek. Our porters were outstanding. The teahouses were well-chosen – comfortable always and sometimes nice. In the end when it snowed on one of our pass days, we ended up shifting the remainder of the trek and Paul was incredibly flexible and jovial about the change in plans. I would go on another trek with this company, with this guide, in a second. Maybe Annapurna…

Trekking is an adventurous way of traveling through the hills and mountains and in Nepal, trekking often includes world-famous views of the Himalaya and scenic surroundings. Trekking is a favorite activity for tourists to Nepal and is a great way to get to know the land and its residents. It involves getting up close and personal with nature while hiking for multiple days through hills and valleys to areas that are often far away from vehicle travel.

As an adventure activity, trekking is mostly done for entertainment, excitement, cultural interaction and education – getting to know a country and its people, culture, landscape and scenery among other highlights. For mountain climbing expeditions, trekking is often the first part of the journey where the mountaineers get used to the increasing altitude as well as the climate and landscape. Nepal’s renowned trekking regions include the Everest region, Annapurna and Langtang with many more areas that have been developed and that are up and coming including the whole rest of the hills up to the Himalaya!

Routes take trekkers travel through picturesque farmland and villages, remote hills, forests and valleys with Himalayan fed streams and rivers. Visitors can take in some of the most beautiful scenery on earth while trekking in Nepal. Facilities along trekking trails are usually more basic than facilities in urban areas and overnight accommodation is in lodges, teahouses and tents and sometimes a combination depending on location and availability of facilities. Now a days, accommodation and meals can be arranged along most trails at lodges and teahouses, especially on the popular routes. In the not so distant past, travelers and porters traveled together with sufficient tents, food and equipment because of a lack of facilities and accommodation, especially in the more remote, uninhabited areas. Our teahouse treks are organized with accommodation and meals along entire routes.

The government regulates most of the areas where trekking is done and permits are required for entering Nepal’s extensive range of national parks and conservation areas. Discovery World Trekking takes care of everything, including arranging permits, allowing you to savor every moment on the enchanting trails!

Discovery World Trekking offers the whole range of trekking packages for Nepal. We look forward to sharing with you the magnificence of the Himalaya and its world famous attractions along with the legendary kindness of the people that populate the hills and mountainous regions.

Rural life in Nepal follows a natural pace depending on season and weather. While trekking, you can travel at your own pace along the scenic trails that link each day’s way points. Many of the trekking routes are in fact ancient trade routes that link Tibet, Nepal and India! The trails often pass through groves of rhododendron, Nepal’s national flower and grazing areas for cows, sheep, water buffalo and even yaks! The mountain panoramas will be unforgettable as well the scenic villages along the way graced with Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries. These settlements will allow trekkers an insight into the traditional ways of life cultural heritage of Nepal along with the wide range of biodiversity of the landscape.

An average day of trekking involves around five to six hours hiking including breaks for meals and as needed. The average distance covered can be a bit relative given the terrain and altitude but figure on about 10 to 15 kilometers. Along the way you will have many chances for photography and perhaps other personal interests such as bird watching and discovering the local flora.
Discovery World Trekking has many options from newly promoted trails to the classic routes and we look forward to hearing from you and satisfying your desired trekking styles and destinations.

You do not need to leave children at home to enjoy a trek in Nepal! A tour with children along will definitively be a different experience from a tour without children. That said, trekking with your children can be just as enjoyable and even more culturally rewarding. Discovery World Trekking has much experience with children on our treks and we have safety and well-being as the highest priority.  We have found that children really open up social situations as they have fewer reservations to interact and they enable easy, meaningful connections with the local people and thoughtful cultural exchange.

We would be honored to cater to your needs to enable bring your family to trek along the enchanting trails of Nepal. With children aboard we pay particular attention to food, lodging, trail activities, and other day-to-day aspects of trekking that are suitable for all. Flexibility in the itinerary is particularly important when traveling with children to cover contingencies and hiking rate. The pace of a trek is usually slower than the pace of adults, but that time can be used with other activities including photography, bird-watching, and many other things along the way. Like nearly everything in life as a parent, there will be new challenges with new insights, and many stories to tell to family and friends back home.
