DWT & OLCY supported Aid Program to earthquake victims in Chalish Village

Yesterday, we went to our Chalish Village for aid by helicopter as walking route conditions were also badly damaged with landslide after earthquake. Thus, we had only option to reach there only by flight. This village is not touched by access of road, takes 2 to 3 days to reach there by walking from Dhading Besi, district headquarter. Local people informed us only less people arrived in village to support for earthquake victims because of the remotest area. This mission was operated under a joint coordination Of Discovery World Trekking and Outdoor Leadership Camp for Youth (OLCY).

We decided to support aid at Chalish village where many people are waiting for help as they are suffering from shelter and food. To address the urgent need, we delivered a relief contribution such as 75 Tents, foods in Chalish village, one of the most earthquake affected village.

While reaching there, we found many houses along with one school were completely damaged. We spend hours with local people for communication by visiting the houses to understand their problem. We saw majority of houses were completely damaged and very less number of houses were partially cracked from outside although entering inside the house found totally damaged and seemed to be very risk at staying inside.

They were extremely in need of help. We became able to extend our help to them as well as to spread happiness in their faces; we realized the people being emotional with happiness tears fallen from their eyes.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who involved and initiated in donation, served as volunteer in this mission, we could not complete this without you and it would be limited as a word! We look forward to your support in rebuilding affected houses and school in coming days. All of us know that it is time for joining hands and supporting to Nepali and its people.
